Kingston embraces artists

Located 90 minutes north of New York City, Kingston stands out as a bustling yet bucolic Hudson Valley destination. The city has transformed over the years – from an early 1600s Dutch settlement to the first capital of New York in 1777 and a center of industry, to an artist’s haven. Today, Kingston’s Midtown Arts District (MAD) is home to a plethora of artist studios and a community of talented filmmakers, woodworkers, performers, silversmiths, and more! In addition, Kingston also offers a notable collection of restaurants, live music and performing arts venues, cafes, breweries, and shops for everyone to enjoy.

Be a part of the Factory Community

From original features still prominent throughout the buildings to the art installations that adorn the hallways and decorate the walls, anyone who visits will surely be enchanted by the character and quirkiness of the Kingston Factory Buildings. At The Shirt Factory, you’ll find yourself in artist studios with 13’ high ceilings, exposed brick walls, and hardwood beams. At The Pajama Factory, large warehouse spaces occupy the artist studios on the first floor of the building, while spacious artist lofts with 10’ high ceilings and hardwood floors occupy the second and third floors. The Brush Factory is a work of art itself; an exquisite mural painted on the side of the four-story building greeting those who drive down Greenkill Avenue. The collection of artist studios that make up The Brush Factory are home to small businesses of all kinds!
